Coaching and mentoring for people who want to live a life less ordinary.

Writing this blog has been a great way to reflect on the experiences I’ve had in life so far, and how I’ve managed to make them happen.

I’m often being asked for advice on how to do some of the things, that I’ve done (see more on this below!).

Over the years I’ve developed practical tools as well as ways of approaching life that has helped me find clarity, make decisions, create change, pursue new careers, move to new cities, and in summary, live a life that’s a bit ‘less ordinary’.

I’m offering mentoring to anyone who’s interested in doing the same.

I’m currently living a big life change, moving cities from the UK to Barcelona so I approach mentoring as a practitioner rather than simply a preacher, I’m living this stuff myself right now!

I can share with you the practical tools and ‘thinking’ approaches that have worked for me, and coach you through using them yourself.

Some of the things I can help you with:

  • Figuring out what you’re really good at

  • Getting a job that makes you happy

  • Changing careers without going back to formal education

  • Getting some clarity on what you should actually do with your life

  • Make decisions

  • Create change in your life, and breeze through it

As Associate Lecturer at Northumbria University’s Design School I’m experienced in mentoring students and graduates, I’m responsible for developing and delivering training and coaching programmes for Trend Bible, and I also work with Intelligent Action, assisting in facilitating leadership training workshops with organisations like the UN and Médecins sans Frontières.

My life so far...

  • I have a degree in Fashion Marketing and an MA in Design Practice.

  • Got a textile internship in New York.

  • Worked as a fashion designer for Topman.

  • Travelled the world researching consumer behaviour for brands like Nike, Converse and MTV.

  • Took a 2 month sabbatical to travel around India.

  • Spent several weeks in silence (not all at once) on Buddhist meditation retreats

  • Lived in London for 7 years

  • Retrained as an Interior Designer (without going back to Uni) - and got a job with the biggest design practice in Newcastle

  • Joined trend Bible to advise manufacturers on the future of life at home.

  • Moved to Barcelona - currently living the challenges of a big life change

How does it work?

Mentoring session are done via online video chat, I find that Skype or Google Hangouts work well, however, if there’s a different platform you’d like to use we can explore that too.

We set up an initial meeting as a ‘get to know’ which will help us both get a feel for how productive we will be working together. This initial meeting is usually 30 mins long and there’s no charge.

If all is good and you want to go ahead we schedule a 45 min meeting weekly or bi-weekly. The cost of each session is £50 and I’ll send you notes, feedback and suggestions after each session. At the end of each month I send you an invoice which is payable within 30 days into my British bank account.

Depending on how you’d like to work I can set you a mini homework activity each week, these are usually reflective activities that help us dig deeper into each conversation.

If you’re goal and time orientated we can set objectives and deadlines, or just take it week by week shaping our sessions to meet your needs as the emerge.

You don’t need to sign up to a block of coaching sessions but I do ask that you commit to the process.

Drop me a line if you’d like to talk about how I can help you.
